The Academic Staff Awards and Academic Gown Ceremony, organized within the scope of the 8th Anniversary celebrations of Isparta University of Applied Sciences (IUAS), was held with great enthusiasm at the Rose Hall of the Isparta Municipality Cultural Center.
The program was attended by IUAS Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal, Deputy Mayor of Isparta Dr. Uğur Büyükçulcu, Provincial Police Chief Erdem Bildirici, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ramazan Özçelik and Prof. Dr. Ayhan Gösterit, Provincial Director of National Education Recai Ocak, Süleyman Demirel University General Secretary Dr. Musa Denizhan Ulusan, deans, directors of vocational schools and higher education institutions, members of the provincial protocol, academic and, administrative staff, and the families of academic staff.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by an impressive musical performance and colorful dance shows presented by the Ankara Turkish World Music and Dance Ensemble affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Following the performance, IUAS Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal delivered the opening speech.
In his speech, Rector Çatal stated:
“Welcome to the 8th Anniversary Celebration of our University and the 2025 Academic Staff Academic Gown and Awards Ceremony. We are honored by your presence.
As the IUAS family, today we are not only holding an academic ceremony we are also sharing a collective story of dedication, patience, science, loyalty, and faith in the future.
The academic gown worn by each of our academics here today is not merely an outfit. It represents years of hard work, sleepless nights, and countless hours spent in laboratories. It is the quiet happiness of a lecturer taking pride in the success of their students.
At this ceremony, 9 professors, 18 associate professors, 16 assistant professors, 4 lecturers, and 1 research assistant will wear their academic gowns. I sincerely congratulate them.
As Isparta University of Applied Sciences, our goal is to become a research and applied sciences university that adds value to its region, contributes to its country, and earns international recognition.
Our greatest strength in achieving this goal is our human resources: the determination of our academics, the enthusiasm of our students, and the dedication of our staff.”
Following the opening speech, the Academic Staff Awards Ceremony took place, and the 2025 Academic Staff Awards were presented in 10 different categories. In this context, 22 academics received awards. During the ceremony, 9 professors, 18 associate professors, 16 assistant professors, 4 lecturers, and 1 research assistant also wore their academic gowns.
The event, organized as part of IUAS’s 8th anniversary celebrations, created a motivating atmosphere of unity and togetherness for the university community.
