Academic Turkish Meetings Concluded with Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal’s Closing Lecture on the “National Technology Initiative”

The Academic Turkish Meetings organized by the Language Teaching Application and Research Center (DİLMER) of Isparta University of Applied Sciences (IUAS) concluded with a closing lecture titled “National Technology Initiative” delivered by the Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal.

The program, held in the Rectorate Senate Hall, was attended by international students learning Turkish at DİLMER and academic staff members. During the event, DİLMER’s activities for the 2025–2026 academic year were evaluated in terms of student profile, quality assurance, digitalization efforts, academic Turkish practices, socio-cultural activities, and student achievements.

In his closing lecture, Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal addressed Türkiye’s vision in science, technology, production, and applied education, the main objectives of the National Technology Initiative, and the importance of qualified human resources in this process. Within the scope of the lecture, international students had the opportunity to evaluate Türkiye’s technology-oriented development approach from the perspectives of research, innovation, domestic production, engineering, the defense industry, and applied sciences.

Following the lecture, students’ questions were answered. At the end of the program, the academic staff members serving at DİLMER presented a book to Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal. In addition, certificates of achievement and appreciation were awarded to the students.

The program concluded with the presentation of a commemorative gift prepared by the students for Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal and a speech of appreciation delivered by the students.
