Isparta University of Applied Sciences (IUAS) participated in the events organized as part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day commemoration program with the attendance of its academic and administrative staff.
Rector Çatal and University Staff Joined the Democracy Vigil
The IUAS delegation, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal, took its place at July 15 Republic and Democracy Square in front of the Isparta Governor’s Office. Demonstrating a strong commitment to the national will, IUAS staff actively participated in the Democracy Vigil, standing shoulder to shoulder in the square and conveying a message of unity and solidarity.
Meaningful Photo Exhibition on Campus
To preserve the memory of the failed coup attempt of July 15 and strengthen public awareness, commemorative activities were also organized on campus. The "July 15 Photo Exhibition," opened by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports on Love Walk in front of the Rectorate Building, once again reflected the resistance displayed that night and the nation's victory.
Refreshments Offered to Citizens and Staff
Throughout the commemoration program, IUAS stood alongside the public with a dedicated stand set up in the square. Coordinated by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, pişi, a traditional Turkish fried pastry, was served to citizens participating in the Democracy Vigil. In addition, refreshments were provided to university staff who took over the vigil between 04:00 and 05:00 a.m.
The event concluded with a group photograph of IUAS academic and administrative staff in the square, symbolizing unity and solidarity.
