The 5th Fish and Bread Festival, organized in cooperation with Isparta University of Applied Sciences Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries and the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports, was held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, with a large participation.
The festival, which started at 12:30 PM in the area next to the Faculty of Forestry on the East Campus, set the stage for pleasant moments accompanied by music. Students both relieved stress and had fun to the fullest with rhythmic music and a fun atmosphere.
Within the scope of the event, approximately 5,000 pieces of fish and bread and halva were offered to the participants.
The festival was attended by IUAS Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayhan Gösterit, Deputy Mayor Musa Macit, protocol members, academicians, university employees, and a large number of students.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to the officials of the Isparta Inland Water Products Breeders Association and Şahlanlar Food Company, who provided support in the supply of fish.
The university management stated that such social and cultural events strengthen student-academic integration and enrich campus life, thanking all institutions and individuals who contributed.
Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries Dean Prof. Dr. Şengül Bilgin stated that fish is an important and healthy food and should be consumed at least once a week. She also emphasized that such events create awareness to increase fish consumption and thanked all participants.
